A woman has become a great success story after starting her business, Salma’s Nursery, 16 years ago as her hobby.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Salma Bibi says she started gardening when a friend advised her to plant the extra cuttings from the plants to start a small business.

She says the advice worked magic for her after she worked hard to achieve better things with passion and dedication and expressed that gardening provides her with peace and happiness.

Bibi says it can be challenging for single mothers to achieve financial independence while balancing the responsibilities of raising a child.

The 40-year-old says she earns about $600 to $700 per month by selling flowers and plants from her home.

She adds that she also advertises her business on social media through an e-commerce workshop that Business Assistance Fiji conducted earlier this year.

Bibi encourages women to step up and find a way that would encourage them to do better for themselves.
