Wests Tigers star Benji Marshall

Wests Tigers star Benji Marshall has been quarantined from his teammates after he was involved in a social distancing breach with a member of the media yesterday.

NRL reports that Marshall greeted Channel Seven reporter Michelle Bishop with a kiss on the cheek at the club's training base at St Luke’s Park in Concord yesterday morning.

The reporter has been sent for a COVID-19 test, while Marshall will not return to the club until the results are out as per the NRL's biosecurity guidelines brought in for the Telstra Premiership's return during the pandemic.

The Tigers announced that under those guidelines, the 35-year-old will remain at home while the reporter undergoes a COVID-19 test.

They say if the results are negative, no further action will be required from Marshall or the Wests Tigers.

The Broncos will take on the Sea Eagles at 9.50 tonight, the Warriors will face the Cowboys at 8pm tomorrow, the Eels will play the Panthers at 9.55pm tomorrow, Rabbitohs will take on the Titans at 5pm Saturday while the Wests Tigers will face the Raiders at 9.35pm Saturday.
