Baulevu community assured a thorough investigation will be conducted in the alleged sacrilege case

The Baulevu community in Nausori has been assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged case of sacrilege at the Nav Durga Mandir.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair visited the temple this morning and was briefed on the progress of the investigation.

Nair then provided guidance to the team.

Vineshwar Sharma who is the priest had told us that their temple was broken into and the holy book, Ramayan was set on fire yesterday morning.

He says they managed to put out the fire just in time and are grateful that they were able to save the temple from being engulfed in flames.
