Barca begin life after Messi with a 4-2 win

Barcelona has begun life without superstar Lionel Messi with a 4-2 win over Real Sociedad in their first match in La Liga this morning.

Martin Braithwaite scored twice for Barcelona while Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto scored a goal each.

In another match this morning, defending champions Atletico Madrid beat Celta Vigo 2-1.

Both sides were reduced to 10-men in injury time.
