England's clash with the Barbarians on Monday is under threat after a number of Barbarians players breached COVID-19 protocol.

The Quilter Cup clash is now in doubt after Barbarians players left their hotel bubble on Wednesday evening without permission and without informing organisers about their whereabouts.

The names of these players have not been revealed.

As such, the England Rugby Football Union is now reviewing whether the match can still go ahead.

The players in question have been released by the Barbarians for safety reasons, with the famous club unable to guarantee those players would not be infectious having left the Covid-secure environment.

It is thought that the invitational side now need to find 12 new players ahead of this weekend's game.

Players such as Rusiate Nasove, Haereiti Hetet, Tevita Ikanivere, Samuela Tawake, Manueli Ratuniyarawa, Simione Kuruvoli and Serupepeli Vularika are part of the Barbarians squad.
