Jowhir Lal and Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has shared how happy he is to meet his long lost friend, Jowhir Lal.

Both worked as young naval recruits together in 1975.

Bainimarama says long before Lal was called and recognised as a Fijian, he passionately dedicated himself to the service of Fiji.

The Prime Minister says thanks to the Fijian Constitution, today they are more than fellow recruits, they are fellow Fijians.

Bainimarama says they share common and equal citizenry, their votes matter equally, and as always they proudly stand united in the service of their country.

He says Lal serves Fiji by growing cane and helping build the Labasa economy which is not not easy work but as a former Navy man, he knows Lal is cut out for it.
