The Digicel Baby Bula Boys' dream of qualifying for the FIFA U-17 World Cup has been dashed after going down 4-1 to New Zealand in the OFC U-17 Championship semi final at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Sailimone Ravono-kula scored the only goal for Fiji in the 14th minute of the first half.

Both teams were tied 1-all at half time.

New Zealand then scored 3 unanswered goals in the second half.

Coach Sunil Kumar says lack of concentration and not keeping possession resulted in some easy goals scored by New Zealand.

In another semi final New Caledonia beat Tahiti 3-2 on penalties.

Fiji will now play Tahiti for the third spot at 4pm Saturday.

New Zealand will take on New Caledonia in the final at 7pm Saturday.

Both New Zealand and New Caledonia have qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru in November this year.
