Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Gareth Baber says there are some real quality attacking backline players in the team and his plan is to have Vilimoni Botitu play in the forwards as well.
He says in the 12 men team, they have decided to go with 5 forwards and 7 backline players.
The 12 men Fiji 7s team to the Olympic Games is captained by Jerry Tuwai.
It includes Semi Radradra, Kalione Nasoko, Josua Vakurunabili, Meli Derenalagi, Iosefo Masi, Asaeli Tuivuaka, Vilimoni Botitu, Waisea Nacuqu, Napolioni Bolaca, Jiuta Wainiqolo and Aminiasi Tuimaba.
Radradra will join the team in Japan later this week.
The Olympic Games Rugby 7s competition will be held from the 26th to the 31st of this month.
Fiji is pooled with Great Britain, Canada and Japan.
The top two teams in each pool, plus the two third-placed teams with the highest points total will qualify for the quarterfinals.
The fixtures will be released later this week.
