Ba to play Lautoka while Rewa will battle Labasa in IDC semifinals

4R Electrical Ba will play Fresh Choice Lautoka in the first semi-final of the Courts IDC while SSS Building (NZ) Labasa will play Lincoln Rewa in the second semi-final at the ANZ Stadium.

Labasa beat Ba by 2-1 in their final group match.

Ratu Anare Apenisa scored the first goal and then veteran player Taniela Waqa scored the second goal from a free kick.

Samuela Drudru scored the goal for Ba.

Labasa led 2-1 at half time.

Labasa captain Akuila Mateisuva says after the loss against Navua on day one, he told the players that they have to prove themselves .

In other matches yesterday, Rewa beat Nasinu 5-1, Nadi defeated Navua 2-1 while the Suva and Lautoka match ended in a one all draw.

Ba will play Lautoka at 3pm tomorrow while Labasa will play Rewa at 5pm and you can catch the live commentaries of the matches on our sister station, Radio Sargam.

Earlier today;

Rewa qualified for the semi-finals after they beat Nasinu by 5-1 in their final group match.

Epeli Valevou and France Catarogo scored two goals each while Patrick Joesph scored one goal.

Nasinu’s Isikeli Ratucava scored a goal from the halfway line after Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau was standing away from his goal line.

Rewa coach Marika Rodu made a number of changes from their 4-2 loss against Suva and those changes proved vital.

Nadi beat Navua 2-1 which ended Navua’s quest for the semifinal spot.

Navua needed a win to qualify and thought they had done enough when Apisai Smith scored for them.

However , two quick fire goals from Napolioni Qasevaaktini saw Nadi keep their slim chances of qualification alive.

Lautoka qualified for the semifinal after a one all draw against hosts Suva.

Suva needed a win to qualify and they got their goal through Christopher Wasasala as they led 1-0.

A powerful shot from Lautoka Malakai Rakula was fumbled into his own net by Benamino Mateinaqara.
