Ba roar back to Govind Park with 5-0 thrashing of Labasa

Ba made a spectacular return to 4R Stadium, Govind Park after nine years, as they thrashed Fiji FACT and Battle of the Giants champion Labasa 5-0 in the opening round of the Extra Super Premier League this afternoon.

Labasa were reduced to 10 men in the first half after goalkeeper Jitiko Vulaca was shown a red card, and Ba capitalized on the advantage to dominate proceedings.

France Catarogo stole the show with three brilliant goals, while Etonia Dogalau put the nails in the coffin with the in the dying minutes of the match.

In the curtain raiser earlier today, the Ba Legends edged out the Lautoka Legends 3-2 at Govind Park in a thrilling encounter that got the crowd buzzing.

Meanwhile, Rewa sent a strong message of intent as the Delta Tigers crushed Nadi 7-1 at Prince Charles Park to get on top of the table.

Captain Setareki Hughes scored twice, John Orobulu stole the show with four goals, while Mosese Namumu scored the 7th goal.

At the Uprising Sports Ground, Suva and Nasinu played out a goalless draw, Nadroga and Tavua finished the match in a 1-all draw at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka while Lautoka beat Navua 3-0 at the Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour.
