Ba confident of other players stepping up in Waqa’s absence

The Priceline Pharmacy Ba soccer team will be hoping for other players to step up in the absence of key striker Saula Waqa as they prepare to take on Rewa in the Punjas Battle of the Giants semifinal this afternoon.

Waqa has been suspended for three years from all levels of soccer after he tested positive for using marijuana to enhance his performance in the Punjas BOG.

Acting President Rynal Kumar says Waqa’s absence will be missed but its not just about one player and they are confident that someone else will step up.

Kumar adds Rewa has looked very good in the tournament so far and getting the better of them will be a tough ask.

Ba take on Rewa in the first semifinal at 2pm today while Nadi play Suva in the second semifinal at 4pm.

The Final is at 3pm tomorrow.
