Mohammed Shiyaz Soheb and his family

Mohammed Shiyaz Soheb who hails from Ba was today admitted to the Bar at the High Court in Suva, becoming the first lawyer in his family a milestone he describes as both humbling and uplifting.

Speaking to fijivillage News, the 24-year-old, originally from Naidrodro Village in Ba, reflected on the challenges he faced throughout his journey, particularly adjusting to life away from home and pursuing his studies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says coming from a low-income earning family, with his father being a bus driver, and his mum who stays at home, his success is shared with his parents who supported him from the very beginning.

Offering guidance to aspiring lawyers, Soheb emphasised the importance of gaining practical experience early.

With his admission now complete, Soheb looks forward to beginning his legal career and honouring the support and sacrifices that helped bring him to this moment.
