Ba Town on High Alert as rising water level continue

Ba stakeholders and the Ba Chair of Special Administrators are monitoring the situation in Ba Town where floodwaters have entered the town area due to heavy rain from last night until now.

Through a video shared on Facebook by Adi Rejieli Banuve Leiloma this morning, all business centres in Ba Town are affected by water.

Leiloma told fijivillage that continuous rain remains in Ba and access to Ba Town is closed.

While contacting the Fiji Roads Authority, they confirmed that the Ba Bridge is still underwater and roads that are still closed to traffic in Ba are Elevuka St, King's junction to Ba Town is still underwater, Wailailai flats on Ba Main St junction to Wailailai Bridge,

FRA is advising vehicle owners in the Western Division to be vigilant as more rain is expected to affect the country later today.

The Fiji National Disaster Management Office is also advising members of the public residing in low-lying and flood-prone areas in the West to be on high alert and remain vigilant.

fijivillage News has also sent questions to Police after a man was seen in a video enjoying the strong currents flowing through Ba Town this morning, but they have yet to respond.
