The Ba Football Association has confirmed that it will be appealing the decision of the Fiji Football Association to suspend Ba striker Saula Waqa after he tested positive for using marijuana during the Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament last week.

Acting President, Rynal Kumar says they are appealing because Waqa was not given time to defend himself.

Waqa was suspended for three years from all levels of soccer last week.

Fiji Football Association CEO, Mohammed Yusuf had said Waqa is a repeat offender.

Waqa and the Ba Football Association were also fined $500 each.

Ba takes on Rewa in the first BOG semifinal at 2 pm this Saturday, while Nadi will face Suva in the second semifinal.

The final will be played at 2.30 pm at Churchill Park.

You can catch the live commentaries of all three matches on our sister station Radio Sargam.
