Labasa has secured their place in the final of the Extra Battle of the Giants tournament after a hard-fought semi-final against Navua at Subrail Park in Labasa.

The match was tightly contested, with both teams finishing the first half and second half goalless at nil-all.

With no goals scored during regular time, the match went into extra time where Labasa clinched the victory thanks to a stunning free kick by Anish Khem.

Speaking to fijivillage Sports, coach Alvin Chand says winning in extra time shows the extra effort put in by the players.

He says that Labasa has not won a cup at home for a very long time, and he is glad they are one step closer to achieving that.

The coach says that he advised the players not to feel pressured, as it is always stressful playing in front of the home crowd.

He is urging fans to come out in numbers, just as they did today, to support the players as they try to bring glory to their home soil.

Labasa will now prepare to face the winners of the second semi-final between defending champions Lautoka and Rewa in the final, which will be held tomorrow at 3pm.

Rewa are currently playing Lautoka in the second semi final.
