Australia will be sponsoring and financing the Fiji Men’s and Women’s National 7s teams to take part in the Oceania 7s which will be used as a build-up for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

Both sides will depart for Australia tonight where they will play against Australia and New Zealand.

The Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes says this sort of support goes to the heart of the Vuvale partnership they have with Fiji.

Feakes says he is torn between who to support in the Tokyo Olympics but has wished the Fiji 7s team all the best.

He adds rugby is a game which connects the two countries.

The Oceania 7s will be played from the 25th to the 27th of this month.
