Vodafone Fijiana XVs lock and daughter of Fijian 7s legend Waisale Serevi, Asinate Serevi, has officially announced her retirement from rugby following Fiji's emotional victory over Wales at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in England.
Serevi expressed her gratitude to all the coaches who played a role in her journey, from Coach Senirusi Seruvakula, Inoke Male, Moses Rauluni, and Ioan Cunningham, for believing in her and giving her the opportunity to represent Fiji on the world stage.
She acknowledged God for blessing her with the talent to play rugby.
Serevi says this was the perfect ending to her career and something she had prayed for.
The lock forward from Qarani, Gau, shared that the decision comes with mixed emotions, but she feels at peace and fulfilled.
Serevi also extended heartfelt thanks to her family and the Fiji Rugby Union for their unwavering support throughout her career.
