Ashtika Prasad scores 391 out of 400 for Year 12

Balancing academic and extracurricular activities has paid off for 17-year-old Ashtika Prasad of Rishikul Sanatan College, who achieved an impressive 391/400 in the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination.

Prasad scored 94 in English, 100 in Maths, 97 in Biology, 98 in Chemistry and 99 in Physics.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Prasad who is originally from Vunika, Labasa says she is grateful for her support system and dedicates her achievement to her parents and elder brother, who have always encouraged her decisions and ambitions.

She says consistency is key, as she made it a point to study every day so that her academic progress wasn’t disrupted during school events or shows.

The 17-year-old says she hosts art exhibitions in her school and participates in science week, science experiments and science shows with her friends.

The Rishikul College student aspires to become a doctor.

When asked what she loves to do in her free time, the 17-year-old says she loves to paint and draw.

She further says she is not a gifted person and she had to study hard because there were some concepts that she found difficult to understand.
