Colgate, in collaboration with The Smile Clinic, conducted free dental checks for about 70 students at Bright Little Ones Pre-School as part of their Oral Health Month activation.
The Colgate team educated students on the importance of brushing for two minutes, twice a day, to maintain strong and healthy teeth.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Colgate General Manager Adrian Romanin said the company works closely with the Ministry of Health and has also been visiting villages and communities across the country, distributing free dental kits and promoting oral health awareness.
Meanwhile, The Smile Clinic carried out free dental checks on the students, assessing their oral hygiene.
Principal Dentist, Dr. Sagar Dhanji, stressed the importance of early dental care, noting that an overseas study has shown that if a child develops cavities in their baby teeth, there is a 220 percent higher likelihood they will have cavities in their adult teeth.
Children were also provided with free brushing kits after their dental check-up.
