The Army Rugby 7s team is gunning for a win at this week’s 47th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s that starts tomorrow and ends on Saturday at the HFC Stadium.

The Army side will be fielding two teams, Army Red and Army Green.

Team Manager Inia Ledua says other teams will be aiming to win the tournament, but for them, they are well prepared and are looking forward to the 3-day competition.

Ledua says even though 3 of their top players like Inia Tawalo, Anasa Qaranivalu and Rokoua Rasaku are still in the national 7s team, he believes they have capable players that will make their mark at the Marist 7s.

Army Red is in Pool K with Police Blue and Marist, while Army Green is in Pool L with Dominion Brothers and Wardens Gold.

The total prize money for the competition is $53,000.

The Marist 7s will kick off with the Women’s and Under 21 competition tomorrow, while the men’s competition will start on Friday.
