Anjilin Sharma and Umlesh Lata shine as winners of Navtarang and Radio Sargam Diwali Thali competition

Diwali will be extra special for Anjilin Sharma and Umlesh Lata Sharma who have taken home the crowns in this year’s Radio Navtarang and Radio Sargam Thali competition.

Out of 11 participants – six for Navtarang and five for Radio Sargam, both winners received $250 in cash each along with hampers sponsored by Golden Harvest.

Navtarang winner Anjilin Sharma from Nakasi says having participated since 2020, she has consistently won each year.

She says she prepared her thali over three days with help from her children and husband.

When asked how she is planning to use her prize money, she says she will treat her children to a shopping trip.

She is also encouraging women to showcase their talents and is urging everyone to help those less fortunate.

Navtarang's other winners include Pooja Chand who came in second place and Sana Shaheen won third place with other participants receiving consolation prizes.

Radio Sargam winner Umlesh Lata Sharma from Wailuku, Tamavua claimed the first prize for the second year in a row.

She has dedicated her win to her youngest son, Niklesh Sharma who helped her throughout her week-long preparation.

With her prize, she plans to prepare food for the poor and is urging people to follow their passion and for women to proudly display their talents.

Radio Sargam’s other winners were Roshni Chand in second place and Subra Habib in third, with other participants also receiving consolation prizes.

Meanwhile, Radio Navtarang and Sargam’s Senior Content Director, Satya Nand expressed gratitude to all participants and Golden Harvest for making the event a success.

He says just as they lit up this competition, may Goddess Lakshmi light up their lives.

He wishes everyone a happy Diwali and hinting at exciting plans for next year's competition.
