All Blacks happy to take back seat as Aussie Rules finals overshadow Bledisloe Cup

As AFL fever grips Melbourne, the All Blacks are in a rare and unfamiliar position of slipping under the radar in preparation for the first Bledisloe Cup test against the Wallabies.

Based in Melbourne this week, the All Blacks are by no means the star attraction, with the Aussie Rules finals in full swing, as Australia's biggest sport.

In fact, the All Blacks' clash against the Wallabies will be played this Thursday night - the first-midweek test against Australia since 1994 - rather than go up against the TV juggernaut of the AFL on the weekend.

All Blacks face Australia at 9.45pm Thursday.
