“Don’t say, I reported to the Ministry and the Ministry did not report it to the Police. You are responsible !”

This was stated by Education Minister Rosy Akbar in a fiery speech directed at all Heads of Schools and Management around the country at the Sangam Heads of School and Management Seminar in Lautoka.

Akbar says nitty-gritty things that could be solved within the school comes to their attention and its put up on social media.

She says then the media will send her a snapshot and ask her for a comment adding, of course, she has to respond in a very fair manner.

Akbar went on to say that as soon as Heads of Schools get a report of a physical abuse and sexual abuse case they must follow the process under the policy.
