Minister for Education Rosy Akbar has thanked Fiji’s 13,263 teachers for their selfless contributions as educators, coaches, counsellors and disciplinarians for their meaningful, continuous labour of love and dedication in shaping the future of Fiji

While giving her message for World Teacher’s Day, Akbar says teachers are responsible for the early development of impressionable minds and have worked tirelessly to provide quality education to all Fijians.

The theme for this year is ‘Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimaging the future’.

The Ministry says the theme is a reflection of the academic challenges our teachers tackled this year due to the pandemic.

It says teaching is a noble profession and this was evident when our teachers continued to provide education to the children of Fiji during this period adding their dedication and commitment must be acknowledged and recognised by all Fijians.
