Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation, Villiame Gavoka stresses a point during the National Council Meeting held at the Fiji Trades Union Congress

Air Terminal Services expects 285 employees to return to work and staff to receive a $5,000 goodwill payment.

This was highlighted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation, Villiame Gavoka during the National Council Meeting held at the Fiji Trades Union Congress this afternoon.

Gavoka says 212 employees of Fiji Airways will be reinstated and they are also working on the contract appointments into permanent positions.

He says they believe in a true democracy where no one’s right is taken away.

Gavoka further says it is simple that recovery and prosperity should not come at the cost of our people as they are the ones who have worked tirelessly and are contributing to the profits.

He says trade unions represent a critical part of what makes our societies as they become the voice of workers and social justice.
