Good news for Fijians who want to work in Australia as a new employer, the Agri Labour Australia, is in the country to recruit 100 workers for their meat processing plant in Grantham, Brisbane.

Agri Labour Australia Manager John Strain met with the Permanent Secretary for Employment, Osea Cawaru, to discuss employment opportunities for Fijian workers in the meat works industry.

Strain confirmed that this is the first time they are in Fiji to conduct interviews and recruit 100 Fijian workers for their meat processing plant.

He says the recruitment will be done in 3 phases since the first phase was done this week, with the remaining phases to be carried out soon.

He adds they also offer training for their workers on financial literacy, awareness of financial scams that come through SMS, and nutrition training on how to cook.

Strain says they also encourage workers to take up other training opportunities.

Permanent Secretary for Employment Osea Cawaru commended the Australian company for choosing Fiji to recruit its workers and also extended the Fijian Government’s gratitude.
