Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sakiusa Tubuna says fair and adequate salaries for civil servants are key to boosting employee morale.

He says this improves productivity and ultimately contributing to the growth and success of organizations.

Tubuna further says that any consideration of salary increases must go hand in hand with accountability in recruitment, structured salary frameworks and having a performance-based culture with a proper reward system.

He stressed that discussions around salary increase should promote cooperation and a clear understanding of the roles, functions and powers under the Higher Salaries Commission Act 2023.

Tubuna adds that state-owned enterprises must work collectively to ensure that executive compensation delivers real value and contributes to economic growth.

Meanwhile, Civil servants will receive a 3 percent salary increase, effective from 1st August this year as announced in the 2025/2026 National Budget.
