Good news for the people of Ba as the government has allocated an additional budget to fix the Govind Park ground as soon as possible.

This was highlighted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Prof. Biman Prasad during his site visit in the Western division.

Professor Prasad says the project has been a disaster, as it was badly managed and badly handled.

He says the people of Ba for the last six years have been denied any opportunity to hold any sort of tournament.

Professor Prasad says that the people of Ba are beginning to lose interest in sports generally because there hasn’t been any sporting facility, particularly the stadium.

He says they are very unhappy about the stadium as they were told that the design was changed several times from the original plan.

The Deputy Prime Minister believes that there should be a thorough investigation while they continue to build the ground to make sure that the people of Ba have the facility as soon as possible.

He says $4 million was allocated to fix the whole stadium.

He says they need a thorough investigation as to how the original contractor built the stadium, managed to manipulate, and change the designs, and built it the way it was.

The Minister says they honestly believe that those responsible must be held to account.
