Energy Fiji Limited has sent an additional 116 personnel, materials, 40 vehicles and heavy machinery from Viti Levu to assist EFL teams in Vanua Levu in power restoration.

EFL has also hired a number of electrical contractors to assist with power restoration.

CEO Hasmukh Patel says none of the areas in Seaqaqa and Dreketi have power supply.

Patel says 10% of areas in Labasa have power supply while 27% of areas in Savusavu have been reconnected.

He adds every metre of the power line has to be physically inspected, safely repaired where required, before it can be energised.

Patel says whilst this process is time-consuming, it is none-the-less critical to ensure the safety and security of power supply.
