The CEO of the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission, Joel Abraham is calling on people not to fall for fake news, not to believe the anti-vaccination messages regarding COVID-19, and not to believe those who are using religion to stop people from getting vaccinated.

While welcoming 2021/2022 National Budget, Abra-ham says the budget initiatives will be dependent on people getting vaccinated, and this is important for everyone to move ahead.

Abraham says our borders can open up after we reach herd immunity. This would mean increased employment opportunities, more economic activity in the country, and people go back to normalcy.

He says freedom of choice is an individual’s choice but people have to understand the ramifications it will have on other people. Abraham says these people should think of the hotel workers who cannot work and have to provide for their families.

He says this cannot happen until there is herd immunity and the borders open up. Abraham says as a Christian, he is also concerned that people are using the Lord’s name in vain.

He says it is important to get vaccinated which will protect us.

Abraham stresses that God helps those that help themselves.
