About 150 Nakorovu Road residents without water since Sunday as WAF promises to fix defective valve today

Frustration is mounting for more than 150 residents of Nakorovu Road in Wainibuku as they have been without water since Sunday but the Water Authority of Fiji has not determined when will supply normalise.

Resident Arneel Prasad says he is tired of the excuses and responses he has been getting from WAF since Monday.

Prasad says they were initially informed that the water supply would be restored by yesterday afternoon, but the situation remains unchanged.

He says it is the second day of the new school term, and his children are unable to go to school because of the water issue.

The resident says they are also facing difficulty in going to work.

While responding to questions by fijivillage News, WAF says their teams searched for possible leakages or bursts and did not find any.

They say step testing last night indicated a defective valve causing low pressure at the downstream which will be attended to today.

WAF says step testing is a method used to locate and quantify water leakage within a specific area of a water distribution system by isolating sections of the pipe network and measuring changes in flow.

They say water carting has been engaged from Monday and will continue today.
