The Attorney-General speaking during the prefects induction at Toko Sanatan Primary School

Newly inducted school prefects at Toko Sanatan Primary School in Tavua were reminded by the Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to always speak the truth.

While speaking at the school’s prefect induction ceremony, Sayed-Khaiyum says the prefects have been given a responsibility to look after the students in the class and also the school.

He says they have to make sure they treat everyone equally, even though some might be related to them or live in the same area, same community or go to the same church, temple or mosque.

He adds this is the only way Fiji can progress as a nation because if we do not make the distinction between each other based on division such as ethnicity, religion, province or schools, we will have a much better country and a stronger nation.

The Attorney-General also highlighted the Government’s response during the COVID-19 period and their dedication to education.

Sayed-Khaiyum says 94% of the Fijian population are fully vaccinated and this has assisted in the recovery of the nation.
