A team of Police officers from the Central Division is rounding up everyone involved in a brawl that occurred last night in Suva City.

The video of the brawl has been shared widely on social media with some people raising concerns about the safety and security of families and friends when in the Capital City at night.

The disturbing video shows a man kicking a helpless man with his safety boot on the face as he regained consciousness and tried to stand up.

Images of a man smashing a chair on a victim who was lying motionless have evoked public concerns as people question the presence of the Police.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu says he has been briefed on the matter and an investigation is currently underway.

ACP Driu says they are questioning the staff who were on duty last night from the nightclubs along that road.

He says Police Officers were at the scene and had transported those injured to hospital.

He adds that a few people are expected to be brought in today for questioning.
