Shayal Prasad is charged with a count of being in possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

A woman who was allegedly in possession of a car, watch, Samsung S10 phone and other items that were proceeds of an alleged crime has been granted bail by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Shayal Prasad is charged with a count of being in possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

It is alleged that between 4th April 2017 and 25th June 2020, Prasad was in possession of property that could reasonably be suspected of having being derived from proceeds of crime from Rahul Ravinesh Kumar.

These items include a Toyota Aqua, treadmill, sewing machine, watch and a Samsung Galaxy S10 mobile phone.

Magistrate Shelyn Kiran has granted Prasad bail on the condition that she must surrender all her travel documents, not interfere with the witnesses, reside in Koronivia, Nausori and report at FICAC on the last Friday of every month.

She has also granted bail on a bail bond of $1,000.

The case has been adjourned to the 22nd of December.
