The Suva soccer team is just a step away from winning the Vodafone Premier League competition and a win against Rewa this Sunday will see the Capital City side becoming the league champions after six years.

Suva currently leads the VPL points table with 25 points and Rewa is second with 23 points.

Rewa also has chances of winning the VPL and will need to beat Suva and Lautoka in its last two matches.

Third-placed Nadi who have 21 points and fourth-placed Ba who have 20 points have slim chances of winning the title and will need to win their remaining matches and hope Suva and Rewa lose points.

Meanwhile, Navua and Nasinu who are placed bottom of the table with 10 and 8 points respectively have two matches remaining and the team that fails to win its last two matches may face relegation.

In this week’s matches, Lautoka will play Navua at 2pm this Saturday at Churchill Park. On Sunday, Nadi will host Labasa at Prince Charles Park. In two other matches, Nasinu will play Ba at 1pm and Rewa will face Suva at 3pm. Both matches will be played at Ratu Cakobau Park.
