A number of shops at Ba Town Council Arcade on fire

Firefighters are currently battling a huge fire at the Ba Town Council Arcade.

The fire started earlier tonight.

A number of shops in the arcade in Ba Town are engulfed in flames. A museum is also located at the site.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says at about 8pm, a 48-year-old security officer reported a case of fire from the second level of the second shop in the arcade.

Police officers and firefighters are still at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
