90 students will be flying the Labasa flag when they take part in the Fiji Primary School Athletics Tuckers Ice Cream Games that will be held tomorrow and Friday at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Labasa Team Manager Lepani Waqavesi says the athletes are here to have fun and enjoy themselves during the two-day event.

Waqavesi says the athletes have settled down well and have acclimatised to the Suva weather and ready to compete with the giants of the competition.

Meet Manager Adriu Qio says preparations for the two day tournament is going well and they are positive of a great tournament this year.

He says they are closely following up with the Ministry of Education and the Nadi Weather Office of the current weather situation and will act accordingly if instructions are given to cancel the games.

Qio says safe guarding the children is their top priority over the next two days and he has instructed the various managers to abide by the rules of the competition.

He adds 26 districts will be taking part over the next two days with 47 medals up for grabs tomorrow.

The games begin at 9am tomorrow with the 1500 metres for the Under 13 and 14.
