The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) says that at least nine people have been killed in a shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia and a second location nearby.
The RCMP says the suspected shooter has also been found dead, with apparent self-inflicted injury.
They say at least two people were “airlifted to hospital with serious or life‑threatening injuries”, while 25 others were being treated locally.
The RCMP says all remaining students and staff were safely evacuated.
British Columbia’s Premier David Eby described the mass shooting as an “unimaginable tragedy”.
