Daveua to feature for 3rd Olympics

The Fiji Women’s 7s team has named seven players who won bronze in the Tokyo Olympics in their 15-member team for the Paris Olympics this month.

Raijeli Daveua will feature for her third Olympic Games this year, while Lavena Cavuru, Reapi Ulunisau, Ana Maria Naimasi, Aloesi Nakoci, Laisa Nalikuceva and Sesenieli Donu will play in their second Olympics.

Coach Saiasi Fuli has also named eight players who will make their first appearance in the Olympics, including Verenaisi Ditavutu, Adi Vani Buleki, Ilisapeci Delaiwau, Kolora Lomani, Maria Rokotuisiga, Meredani Qoro, Adi Mereani Rogosau and Talei Qalo Wilson.

The Fiji Women’s 7s team is in Pool A with New Zealand, Canada and China.

The Women’s tournament will be held from the 29th to the 31st of this month.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Men’s 7s team is pooled with France, USA and Uruguay.

The Men’s competition will be held from the 25th to the 28th of this month.
