6,768 reported domestic violence cases last year

Alarming statistics show that there were 6,768 reported domestic violence cases last year.

This is according to data by the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre.

Their data shows there were 63 cases of rape and 14 attempted rape cases.

There were 214 child rape cases and 155 child sexual abuse cases.

The data further shows there were 65 sexual harassment cases while there were 100 child physical, verbal, emotional and abuse cases.

FWCC Coordinator Shamima Ali says there is a lot of things we have to do as a society.
