South Korean Ambassador to Fiji Young-Kyu Park and Minister for Education Premila Kumar.

65 schools in the rural and maritime areas will benefit from the $400,000 worth of IT equipment donated by the Korean Government to the Ministry of Education today.

This includes computers, projectors, visual charts, science equipment and other teaching aid and learning tools.

Minister for Education Premila Kumar says the assistance comes at an opportune time to improve the facilities in schools especially when we are planning and preparing to re-open schools as soon as clearance is given by the Ministry of Health.

Kumar says this will benefit many of our students as they will return to better-equipped computer labs and classrooms.

She adds with more than 17,000 of our children vaccinated, we are getting closer to the opening of schools.

South Korean Ambassador to Fiji Young-Kyu Park says the donation is part of the Education Environment Improvement Project of the Embassy which aims to enhance the quality of education.

Park says they hope it can make a modest but substantial contribution to the nurturing of human capital in Fiji.
