The government will continue to give strong support to the sugar industry.

$60 million has been allocated to the Sugar Ministry.

None of the farmers in Rakiraki will be affected if their cane is transported to Rarawai Mill.

This assistance will continue over three years.

$5 million has been allocated to get more people into cane farming.

619 farmers who were not assisted under the Cyclone Winston package will receive assistance in the 2017/2018 National Budget.

300 new trucks to be owned and operated by FSC.

This will reduce costs for farmers.

FSC will also get 20 mechanical harvesters.

This will further reduce costs for farmers.
