30 men and 30 women have been selected from Suva, Nadi, Sigatoka, Nadroga, Nasinu, Kadavu and Namosi for an intensive two-day camp aimed at strengthening the country’s elite rugby pathway.

The players are part of the Fiji Rugby Union’s High Performance Unit (HPU) Academy.

The Fiji Rugby Union says the HPU Academy continues to strengthen the country’s elite rugby pathway as it develops the next generation of national representatives.

FRU says the wide geographic spread highlights the depth of rugby talent nationwide and the Academy’s role in identifying and refining players.

Among those returning to the programme is former Fijiana 15s and 7s representative Tokasa Seniyasi, who has rejoined the pathway after recovering from injuries sustained following the Tokyo Olympics.

FRU says her return has been described as a strong example of resilience and the opportunities available for players to re-enter the national system.

The union says narrowing development to the top 60 athletes allows for greater focus, quality and long-term sustainability.

The programme is led by HPU coaches Bill Gadolo, Ilai Derenalagi, Aca Ratuva and Tavaita Rowati, with support from Flying Fijians coaches Ifereimi Rawaqa and Seremaia Bai, ensuring alignment across national teams.

FRU says continued investment in high-performance pathways is critical to the future success of Fiji Rugby.
