Six women will be vying for this year's Vodafone Tebara Carnival Queen title which will be held at Syria Park in Nausori from the 4th to the 11th of May.

The six women that will be this year's Queen contestants are Miss Nausori Plaza Marilyn Bower, Miss Tara's Supermarket Volau Tilalati, Miss Pak N Save Natasha Nisha, Miss Ozone Electrical Naomi Tura, Miss Amras Mall Berendeta Ela Waqavanua and Miss Kriss Amusement Rides Grace Bari.

Tebara Carnival Chairperson Uma Kant Patel says the Carnival is not new to Nausori as it has been running since the 80s.

He says this year, the Carnival committee has once again agreed to utilize the funds raised for Nausori beautification initiatives which is very much aligned with the Government's National Development plan and sustainable development goals of creating a vibrant and resilient towns and cities.

Patel says there are going to be 34 stalls, 8 cooperate boths, guest tent, tent for public sitting, amusement rides, bouncy castle for kids, and a tent where various government agencies will provide free services to the public.

He adds if weather permitting, they are confident that the turn out will be bigger this year compared to last year.
