Repair works at the Ellington Wharf are progressing steadily, with the project now 54 percent complete.
The Fiji Roads Authority confirms that all essential piling works have been successfully completed, forming a strong foundation for the next stages of construction.
They say piling works are 100 percent complete, while the precast slab installation is currently at 70 percent.
The team is now focused on this critical phase, which plays a key role in shaping the new wharf structure.
FRA says one of the main challenges faced so far has been unfavourable site conditions for pile installation.
The remaining phases include backfilling works, construction of the concrete deck slab, and other ancillary works.
The final stage will see the installation and construction of the wharf deck, which will complete the repair project and restore full operational capacity.
