54 players selected for the extended Fiji Pearls squad gathered for the first training session as head coach Una Rokoura selected top players from local competitions.

Rokoura says top performers from the 2024 Finance Hub Super League and Netball Fiji’s affiliated districts club competitions were picked for this training session.

She says this marks the first phase of the Pearls' off-season preparation, as they head into the festive season and she wants the players to maintain their training schedules over the break.

Rokoura says the players underwent a strength test at the Fiji Rugby HPU Gym and later went to the USP Gymnasium, where they had a fitness yo-yo test.

She says the purpose of this initial gathering was to assess their fitness levels after a long netball season and to gauge their strength and conditioning before beginning their focused five-week training program for the upcoming PacificAus Sport series next year.
