Today marks a historic occasion for people residing in Laqere and nearby communities following the official opening of the $50 million True Mart Complex which will also employ around 50 to 70 workers.
The new complex features a supermarket and a cafeteria, while a gym, pharmacy, clinic, BSP Bank, and more outlets will open later this year.

Grace Road President Daniel Kim says the complex will be fully operational in July and residents will not need to travel to Suva to buy essential items.
He says his aim was to provide all the services within the area.
Kim also acknowledged those who have supported him in this development, including their board, the landowners, Tui Nayau, and Tui Namosi.
He says that he is also working with local farmers to buy local produce.
He says he will be visiting Lau soon to see what they can provide, as their next major project is a juice factory that will use local produce.
He adds that he has discussed this with the Tui Nayau, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba, regarding potential developments in Lau.

Kim highlighted that food security and energy security are important to him.
He says they will be installing solar panels on the building, which is still in progress.
He adds that they are working with the landowners to help uplift the community.
