More than 500 people have been left stranded as Viti Vanua Crossing has been flooded in Tavua since Saturday.
Kumar says more than 500 people from Yasiyasi, Tavualevu Village, Yaqara and Rabulu areas are affected.
He says when he went to check on the situation this morning, he saw some residents leaving their homes for medical reasons and to prepare for the current warnings.

Kumar adds that it's not heavily raining in Tavua at the moment, but people are taking precautionary measures.
The Advisory Councillor is urging everyone to take heed of the advisory from the media and the Nadi Weather Office.
Meanwhile, a flash flood warning is in force for whole of Viti Levu while a flash flood alert remains in force for the whole of Vanua Levu.
The Nadi Weather Office says a flood warning remains in force for all low lying flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Nakauvadra River including Rakiraki Town, Naseyani at Yaqara River, Tavua River, flood plains of Ba River, Nadi and Nawaka River.
A flood alert remains in force for all low lying flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Tuva River in Nadroga.
An active trough of low pressure with associated active rain-bands and strong northwesterly winds continues to affect the country.
