Five priests from the Shree Sanatan Dharm Brahman Sabha of Fiji are representing the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha in a specialised training programme in Banaras, India.
President of the Sabha, Dhirendra Nand says that the programme will greatly benefit Sanatan Dharm followers, as it is the first formal training being organised for Fijian priests.
He confirms that the classes began earlier this month and are being conducted by Banaras Hindu University, adding as part of the Purohit Course, participants will also travel to India to attend the Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra.
The priests will attend an online phase from until November 21st, followed by participation in the Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra from November 23rd to 25th.
Nand confirms that they will then undergo the ITEC course at BHU Banaras before completing another online phase.
Meanwhile, the participants are very happy after attending the different sessions.
The Sabha has acknowledged Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for facilitating this through their recent meeting in India.
