The 48th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s which is the final leg of the Fiji Bitter 7s series will be held from March 21st to 23rd at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.

Fiji Bitter Marist 7s Chairman of the Organising Committee, Lawrence Tikaram says they have a new 1-2-1 format this year which means on the first day they will use one ground, the second day they will use two grounds and the last day back to the main ground.

The Women’s and the U18 and U21 games will be played at the HFC Bank Stadium on Thursday and they will return for the finals on the main ground on Saturday.

He says their new category which is the U18s competition will play on Saturday only at the HFC Bank Stadium as well.

Tikaram says registrations are now open and they are looking at 45 Men’s teams, 12 Women’s teams, 18 teams in the U18 and U21 for Men’s and Women’s and the new category this year is the U18s which will have 6 Men’s and 6 Women’s teams.

In regards to overseas teams, Tikaram says one team has already confirmed and they are also the first team to register for the competition which is the Royal Navy team out of England.

Tikaram is inviting fans to come and cheer on their favourite teams.

He says right now they are stressing to team managers the importance of getting their teams registered on time as last year about 8 to 10 teams missed out due to late registration.

Tikaram says they will be launching their prizemoney with the major sponsors later.
